Frederick Afrifa, a contestant on the 2025 season of BBC’s “The Apprentice,” visited ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø last week to inspire students as part of his Believe in Greatness public speaking programme. Frederick, who co-founded Believe in Greatness, shared his journey of overcoming adversity and imparted valuable lessons for students aspiring to achieve their goals. His visit comes just days before the launch of the 19th season of “The Apprentice,” which airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from Thursday 30 January 30.

Born in Milan, Frederick moved to the UK at the age of 13 with no knowledge of the English language. This challenging transition left him feeling anxious and insecure, but he found confidence and purpose through athletics, eventually signing a professional contract in 2018. Drawing on these experiences, he co-founded the Believe in Greatness programme to help people overcome their fears and insecurities, build confidence, and embrace their true selves.
During his talk at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, Frederick introduced students to the C3 Framework – encouraging them to be creative, courageous, and consistent in their endeavours. He also shared three key lessons to help students become “go-getters”:
In addition to the presentation, Frederick will be working with ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø on a mentoring programme with Believe in Greatness. The initiative will connect students with employers, provide opportunities for mock interviews, and offer follow-up mentorship to help students transition from education to the workplace. It aims to help students change their mindset, overcome barriers, build confidence and find their passion.
Tafina Davidson, Head of Learner Experience, said: “It was an honour to host Frederick and his colleagues. Like all of us at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, they believe that greatness is within everyone’s grasp by embracing who they truly are and staying consistent in their efforts. The presentation was inspiring for everyone in attendance, and we are very excited about our ongoing collaboration.”
