Our VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Microblading is a specialist qualification designed for experienced beauty therapists and beginners alike who are looking to build a career in the fast-growing field of semi-permanent makeup. This nationally recognized course will equip you with the advanced skills and knowledge needed to safely and professionally deliver microblading treatments for eyebrow enhancement.

You'll gain an industry-recognized qualification awarded by VTCT, benefit from hands-on training in a professional learning environment, learn from supportive tutors with real-world microblading experience, and build a strong portfolio to help launch or grow your career.

This course is open to all learners aged 18 and over.  It is recommended that applicants have:

• Beauty Therapy - Level 3, or equivalent (or equivalent medical qualifications).
• Four GCSEs grade 5 or above, including English and maths or Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2

In addition, this course has a specific dress code to comply with industry standards:

• Nails must be short and well-maintained
• Make-up should be natural-looking
• Hair must be clean, well-cared for and tidy; if your hair is longer than shoulder length, it should be tied up in a bun
• Personal jewellery is not allowed during practical lessons
• Beards and moustaches must be neatly groomed and trimmed
• Short-sleeved clothing with The Salon uniform/scrubs, accompanied by flat, covered black shoes 

You may also need to complete an initial assessment in English and Maths, depending on your grades.

This qualification is assessed through an internally assessed portfolio of evidence, which includes four case studies and internal practical assessments. Additionally, learners must complete an externally set overarching examination, with a required pass mark of 70% and a top-up component if needed. To achieve the qualification, all assessment criteria across the five mandatory units must be fully evidenced.

The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in the advanced therapy process of Enhancing Eyebrows with Microblading Techniques.

Learners can progress into additional level 2/3/4 beauty and hairdressing courses or into self employment and freelance work.

This qualification is based on attaining professional competence within the discipline of microblading and includes the required elements to work effectively as a microblading technician.

Learners must achieve all mandatory units:

• Health and safety in the salon
• Client care and consultation
• Enhance appearance using microblading techniques
• Anatomy and physiology for microblading techniques
• Eyebrow shaping services

Adult Students (19+)

If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August before your course starts, are resident in London, and have the legal right to stay in the UK for at least 12 months, you may be eligible to study for free, depending on your circumstances and chosen course. For more information, please click here.
