Delivered onsite but starting with just 6 hours per week, the course includes interactive activities designed to build confidence, foster collaboration, and keep learning exciting.

You will also join a vocational pathway of your choice, such as Art, Creative Media, Science, IT, or Business. Guided by experienced tutors, you will develop practical skills that can be applied to real-world scenarios, helping to build a strong foundation for further study or employment.

You will need:

GCSE Grade 1 for both English and Maths

You will also have an initial assessment.

Learners are required to pass an externally set assessment which is internally marked, internally moderated and externally moderated. The assessment is in the form of coursework. The qualification is awarded pass or fail. 

You will also sit an external maths and English exam which will depend on your level.

Students who achieve this qualification progress to a Level 1 vocational course.

This programme is delivered face-to face through a classroom-based approach by both a Foundation Learning specialist lecturer and a vocational specialist lecturer, providing learners with expert support across all aspects of their studies.

The curriculum combines engaging theoretical learning with practical, hands-on activities, enabling learners to develop a broad range of vocational, personal and employability skills. This balanced approach helps build confidence, independence and the knowledge required to progress successfully into further study, training or employment.

School Leavers (16-18)

If you will be 16, 17 or 18 years old on 31 August before your course starts, and you have the legal right to live in the UK for the full length of your study programme, your course will be free.
