Beauty Therapy - Level 3

ABOUT THIS COURSE

If you passionate about beauty, self-care, and helping people feel their best, our Beauty Therapy Treatments - Level 3 study programme can help develop your creativity, skill, and care to make a real difference in people’s lives. Beauty therapy is about more than just looks. You’ll help people feel confident, relaxed, and rejuvenated. Whether it’s through a glowing facial, a soothing massage, or advanced skin treatments, you’ll make a real impact on your clients’ well-being.

The course includes the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments qualification, which has been designed to develop your skills to a professional level, so you can deliver exceptional beauty therapy treatments with confidence.

You'll be working in The Salon, based at Hammersmith & Fulham College, which is open to the public, giving you real life customer service and client care experience. In addition, we also have an end-of-year show for you to showcase your best work on a catwalk to family, friends, industry experts and employers.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need:

  • Four GCSEs grade 4 or above, including English and maths (or equivalent Functional Skills at Level 2) 
    and
  • Level 2 Beauty Therapy or equivalent

In addition, this course has a specific dress code to comply with industry standards:

  • Nails must be well maintained, short and without nail varnish
  • Make-up should be natural looking
  • Hair must be clean, well-cared for and tidy; if your hair is longer than shoulder length, it should be tied up in a bun
  • Personal jewellery is not allowed during practical lessons
  • Beards and moustaches must be neatly groomed and trimmed
  • Short sleeved-clothing with The Salon uniform/scrubs, accompanied by flat, covered black shoes

You may also need to complete an initial assessment in English and Maths, depending on your grades.
You will also have an interview with our course tutors at enrolment, so we can ensure the course is right for you.
Excellent attendance and punctuality are key elements of employability.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

Your assessments are designed to match what you’ve learned. All your work will be marked by your tutors, giving you a chance to show off your skills in real-world situations.

You’ll be graded on a scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass, or Unclassified. This grading system helps you see how well you’re doing and where you can improve.

You’ll build a portfolio of your coursework, showcasing your progress throughout the course. Plus, you’ll get hands-on experience through practical assignments and receive feedback from your tutors.

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

After completing this course, you'll be well-prepared for employment as a qualified beauty therapist. In addition, many students go onto study specialist qualifications and training, or add additional haidressing qualifications to enhance their salon repetoire.

FEES

School Leavers (16-18)

If you will be 16, 17 or 18 years old on 31 August before your course starts, and you have the legal right to live in the UK for the full length of your study programme, your course will be free.

Adult Students (19+)

If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August before your course starts, are resident in London, and have the legal right to stay in the UK for at least 12 months, you may be eligible to study for free, depending on your circumstances and chosen course. For more information, please click here.
