The T Level in Health is a composite technical study programme, aimed at preparing young people for work, higher level apprenticeships or higher education (HE).
It comprises 4 key components:
- an approved technical qualification (TQ)
- the occupational specialism of Supporting the Adult Nursing Team
- a substantial industry placement with an external employer
- employability, enrichment and pastoral (EEP) elements.
This qualification is suitable for post-16 students looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the health sector.
You will need:
- GCSEs in English, Maths and Science at grade 4 or above
or - a relevant Level 2 qualification and Functional Skills in English and maths
You will also have an interview with our course tutors at enrolment, so we can ensure the course is right for you.
Core component:
- 2 written examinations
- employer-set project (ESP) In order to achieve a grade for Core Component, students must have results for both sub-components (the core (written) examination and the employer-set project).
Occupational Specialism:
- a case study assessment
- 2 practical assessments and
- a professional discussion.
Students who achieve this qualification could progress to the following course options:
- higher education - UCAS points available for university entry
- apprenticeship (progression onto lower level apprenticeships may also be possible in some circumstances, if the content is sufficiently different).
Students who achieve this qualification could progress to the following careers:
- employment
- healthcare support worker in a health setting
- senior healthcare support worker in a health setting
- apprenticeship (progression onto lower level apprenticeships may also be possible in some circumstances, if the content is sufficiently different).
The course will be delivered through classroom teaching, exams and assessed work.
A substantial industry placement of 360 hours with an external employer will form an important part of the delivery including an employer project.
There will also be tutorial and pastoral supported elements.
School Leavers (16-18)
If you will be 16, 17 or 18 years old on 31 August before your course starts, and you have the legal right to live in the UK for the full length of your study programme, your course will be free.
