Children and Young People's Mental Health - Level 2

ABOUT THIS COURSE

Mental Health affects around one in ten children and young people. These issues include depression, anxiety and conduct disorder and can often be a direct response to occurrences in their lives. Emotional well being is just as important as a child’s mental health therefore it is important for those working with children and young people to have a good understanding of concepts, risk factors and impact of mental health. You will learn about factors that may affect Children and Young People's Mental Heath and How to support Children and Young People with Mental Health concerns. You will also:

  • Achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.
  • Evidence your competency to employers.
  • Further your personal and professional development.
  • Learn at a time that suits you without the need to attend college.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need to be:

  • aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you wish to study
  • be eligible to study in the UK, with 'in-date' evidence that shows that you will be resident in the UK for the duration of the course and not currently studying an apprenticeship programme

You will also need access to a computer (laptop or desktop), and a stable internet connection, to access our interactive online learning platform.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

You will complete a series of assessments within a set time-frame which will be marked by a qualified assessor. These will produce the relevant evidence to meet the requirements for the awarding body. On successful completion you will be awarded a nationally recognised level 2 qualification.

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

To further your personal development you may wish to undertake up to three Level 2 courses at the same time.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

As this course is undertaken by distance learning, there is no need to attend the college and you can study at a time that suits you. You will receive a set of comprehensive learning materials on your subject, and have access to an assessor who will support you throughout the programme.
