The primary purpose of this qualification is to help you prepare to enter, or progress within, employment where you work or interact with people with learning disabilities in a variety of roles. This qualification will be ideal for you if you’re working within healthcare or social care but may also be useful if you’re working in education or a housing support role. You can also take this qualification to support your progression into further learning within the Health and Social Care sector. The qualification aims to help you develop your underpinning knowledge and understanding to support your role working with people with learning disabilities. You will explore the principles of safeguarding and positive risk taking and gain awareness of the autistic spectrum.
You will need to be:
- aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you wish to study
- be eligible to study in the UK, with 'in-date' evidence that shows that you will be resident in the UK for the duration of the course and not currently studying an apprenticeship programme
You will also need access to a computer (laptop or desktop), and a stable internet connection, to access our interactive online learning platform.
You will complete a series of assessments within a set time-frame which will be marked by a qualified assessor these will produce the relevant evidence to meet the requirements for the awarding body. On successful completion you will be awarded a nationally recognised level 2 qualification.
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England
- Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
- Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
- Level 3 Certificate for Working in the Health Sector
- Level 3 Certificate in Working with Individuals with Diabetes
- Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services
As this course is undertaken by distance learning, there is no need to attend the college and you can study at a time that suits you. You will receive a set of comprehensive learning materials on your subject, and have access to a knowledgeable tutor and assessor who will support you throughout the programme.
