Did you know that plasterers are some of the most commonly used tradespeople in the creation of film sets? We have established links with local studios such as Leavesden and Pinewood - perhaps you could find yourself working on a film production one day. Of course, plastering is also a highly paid and in-demand profession on traditional construction sites.
This course is predominantly for 16 - 18 with a limited number of spaces for 19+.
It is recommended that you have:
- a Plastering Level 1 qualification
- Functional Skills Level 1 or above in English and Maths
- a real desire and enthusiasm to learn a trade within the construction industry
At enrolment, you will have an interview with our course tutors to ensure the course is right for you.
You may also need to complete an initial assessment in English and maths, depending on your grades.
Your assessments are designed to match what you’ve learned. All your work will be marked by your tutors, giving you a chance to show off your skills in real-world situations.
You will be graded on a scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass, or Unclassified. This grading system helps you see how well you are doing and where you can improve.
You will build a portfolio of your coursework, showcasing your progress throughout the course. Plus, you will get hands-on experience through practical assignments and receive feedback from your tutors. Some mandatory units may be assessed by external exams.
After completing this course, you will be well-prepared for further study or employment in the industry. Apprenticeships can often include the City & Guilds Level 2 Extended Diploma.
This is a practical based course with most of the time spent learning your skills within the workshop along with elements in the classroom.
